059/365
This is my new Selenite Lamp. It is a large chunk of selenite with a hollowed-out shaft where a small lightbulb is placed. I saw it when I was walking back from getting the Four Cranes shot and liked it so I went back the next day when the shop was open. I love the glow it creates in the corner of the room where my computer desk sits.

North Church Steeple
058/365
Apartments and the North Church Steeple as shot from the Hanover Street garage on yet another snowy day. This steeple is very prominent, you can see it from pretty much anywhere in the downtown area and from the water. I like the contrast with the apartment buildings. There are a lot of old buildings in Portsmouth and as you can see they are sometime strangely shaped.

Four Cranes
057/365
Some sort of shipped docked in Portsmouth. Shot from the Memorial Bridge.

Downeaster Crossing
056/365
The Downeaster (an Amtrak passenger train running from Portland, ME to Boston, MA) is often passing through Dover, NH on my way to work. Although I am paranoid about getting my camera wet I thought a shot of it in the snow would be nice.

Sighting
055/365
Not as well known as the Loch Ness monster, the Serpent of the Sink is an even rarer sighting!

Overlap
054/365
Cards move pretty fast when you are shuffling them together. I like that there is a bit of blur above where the cards overlap and also that you can see corners from both a left card and a right card.

Level 4
Top floor, middle stairwell of the Hanover St garage in Portsmouth, NH. I stopped by to get this shot after my chiropractor appointment.

Spaces Available
Inside the Hanover St garage in Portsmouth, NH. Had just come from seeing Made in Dagenham at The Music Hall (really good!) and liked these two rows of diagonals.

Sushi Mat
Two bamboo sushi mats laid in opposing directions on a white cloth. I did have sushi for dinner but it was from the grocery store.
Blue Vase
I've had this blue vase for a long time. It sits on my stove and I like the way the light from the hood creates a round shadow below it.

Rings
I'm sure it is fairly obvious what this is but I wanted to make a somewhat abstract B&W image today.

Zoom-Zoom
My new car! This isn't a great photo the whole process took longer than it should have because someone else was with the finance person before me. Anyway this is my 2011 Mazda 3s.

Heartlight
My apologies up front for any soft rock songs that get stuck in your head (Neil Diamond's Heartlight) but what else could I call this? My neighbor made this heart-shaped display of red mite-lights and I saw it coming home from the chiropractor. I like the glow in the snow. Processed this through Schloss' Bleach Bypass 1 preset in Aperture.

Self-Self Portrait
I had the idea to use the iPad with a photo of myself. I think you could do a lot of different parts of your body this way.

Spiral Blocks
I've seen a lot of Jenga shots lately so I thought I'd do my own. My blocks are actually from an LL Bean game called Ta-Ka-Radi but its all the same build a tower and pull out blocks till it falls over game.

Waiting for Customers
Saw this dog as I passed by the local music shop on my way to work. Maybe he was just enjoying the sun or watching people go by but it sort of looks like he is lonely and waiting for customers. I was passing at 9am so he had an hour yet to wait.

Table Lantern
The table lantern at The Brewery in Portsmouth, NH where I had dinner prior to seeing The Social Network.

Chew Toy
One of Olivia's Pet Stages toys that is intended to promote chewing for cleaner teeth. She won't do anything with it unless you throw it or hold it right up to her mouth. But I still think it is a neat looking toy, especially up close.

Red Sleeve
A sleeve on the back of a "suede" shirt I have. The camera definitely has trouble when dealing with large areas of a single color. The shot came out orange and I had to change the hue post process.

Wooden Motorcycle
My placeholder motorcycle until I can get another bike this Spring. Did quite a lot post-process with this: contrast, definition, and curves. I wanted to make sure the texture of the wood was well represented.

Spin
I screwed up my back so I was laying on the floor and my ceiling fan reminded me of a professional photographer's shot of a ceiling fan and moose head. I've also been wanting to do shutter-priority shots with motion and this fit the bill. I like that you get just a hint on the 5 blades in this quarter-second exposure.

Binders
I've had this package of colored binders from my interest in the hipster PDA years ago. Interesting thing about this shot is that the color was not correct out of camera at all but I fixed it in Aperture. Shooting with the flash resulted in better color but typical ugly on-camera flash glare.

Shave Soap
A traditional shaving kit with soap-bowl and horse-hair brush. I used this for about a month but I didn't find the shaving to be much different than shaving creme. It does, however, take a bit more time to use so I've gone back to shaving creme in a can.

Multi-colored lamp
I'm watching my friends' cats while they are in FL and they have this cool multi-colored lamp.

Butter Bean Soup
I made myself Butter Bean Soup tonight for dinner. I don't cook as often as I used to so I felt it was worthy of a photo. You can't really see the butter beans but they are in there.
