A McCormick Farmall tractor "hood" and engine. Interestingly the radiator had the International Harvester logo so I guess this was a bit of a hodge-podge.

Apple Tree Ladders

Apple Tree Ladders! I remember when going to pick your own apples meant climbing these type of ladders and not standing on the ground using a pole with a bucket on the end. Of course at that age I hardly needed a ladder to climb a try.

Plate and Spokes

A closeup of the suncatcher. The plates are held in by the pressure of the spokes. I like the way the different facets of the plate design brighten in the strong sunlight.

Suncatcher

A giant suncatcher made from an old bicycle wheel and colored glass plates. If you look at the larger version you can see the rays of sun.

Hearth Happy

Olivia settles in beside the hearth at camp on her first visit. I have always liked the owls in the fireplace and they are especially cool with their new green eyes.

Wheat Grass

Wheat grass I am growing for Olivia. I like how the little water droplets sit on the tops of the blades. This is truly no-work gardening. Add water and wait, just a week ago this a container of strange looking soil.

Seating

My new couch! Finally a place to sit! Or sleep as is the case here. Olivia went to the vet for her first checkup and is running a fever due to some upper respiratory virus she got in the shelter. When we got home she was conked out for hours from the first dose of medication.

This is the Cocheco River that runs through Dover, NH shot from the Chestnut St bridge. The orange building you see below the smoke stack is where my office is going to be.

Olivia

This is Olivia. I adopted her from Cocheco Valley Humane Society during their Adopt-A-Thon this weekend. She is 8 lbs and probably just over a year old. She was found as a stray in Rochester and has been at the shelter for a couple months. She is a real love-bug and I'm so happy to be able to provide her forever home.

Taxi Stop

OK not really. This taxi is actually in the Police Cruiser spot. It was surprisingly quiet in Portsmouth last night when the movie got out.

Fuel gauge on a diesel locomotive. One per side making the overall fuel capacity 5200 gallons. Yowza.

Locomotive

I saw this big diesel engine sitting on a spur when I was driving down Rt. 108 out of Newmarket and decided to pull in to check it out. You can walk right up to it.

Morning Glory

An open morning glory flower. There are a lot of them climbing a stop sign not far from my apartment.

Junk Mail

When I took this I just liked the light in the alley. Now I realize this is the place that sends the weekly junk mail packet in the seacoast area: Eastern Marketing Services.

Bricks and Lamp

A huge brick wall in Dover with a single lamp. I like the varied coloration of the bricks and the lone lamp. Anyone care to guess where it is?

Sunlit Tree

I liked the way the sun was lighting just this huge tree and not the trees around it. The chapel/church makes a nice background for it. This is still in the cemetery on Central Ave.

Leaning

Another shot from the cemetery in Dover. Very few markers seem to be straight but those nearest the tree are really leaning.

Kitchen Cabinets

The cabinets and appliances in my new apartment in Dover, NH. They look nice here, but they were filthy and the particle board they are made of is falling apart. I spent many hours cleaning the kitchen before I was ready to put anything in it.

Barn Lighting

Light fixture in an old barn. You can buy these and other barn-styled lighting if you are into more of an industrial style for design. If I had a big loft I'd definitely consider them.

A cool tower in Bridgton, ME. Not sure what it was used for, maybe fire watch or air-raid watch.

A cool globe-like hanging light I saw in a shop in Naples, ME this past weekend.
